As you may know, starting with the outbreak of the Corona crisis in the spring of 2020, the energy market, and therefore Electris, was strongly affected. This was followed in the summer of 2021 by a flood of the century in Mersch, which also hit us hard and unfortunately caused massive financial damage. The Russian war of aggression on Ukraine in February 2022 was followed by an unpredictable energy crisis, which had a massive impact on the energy market with nervous and volatile prices and uncertainties, and thus again on the business of Electris.
The previous shareholders of Hoffmann Frères Energie et Bois s.à r.l., all of whom are private individuals, took these successive events and difficult challenges as an opportunity to look for a stable and market-savvy buyer for their shares in the company, through whom the increasing risks and uncertainties on the energy market can be managed in the future in the interest of the customers.
In the search for a buyer with appropriate experience and competence in the market, this was found in Encevo S.A.. With its established business areas in the energy market, both as a network operator and energy supplier, the takeover offers the right conditions to benefit from its existing stability and structures in the increasingly challenging energy market.
Important for you, the brand Electris and therefore also our products and contracts will remain. There will be no impact on the operational business and sales activities of Electris. Likewise, the contact persons you are familiar with will remain the same and can be reached as normal.
