You have decided to install a photovoltaic system and thus support the sustainable energy transition. Now you are faced with the question of how to market the photovoltaic energy you feed into the grid. In Luxembourg, there are various options for this:
The feed-in tariff is concluded directly with the grid operator. This remuneration is linked to certain subsidy models. You can find more information further down on this page in the section “Subsidies”. You can find more information under the following link:
Feel free to contact your grid operator for more information.
In general, the Luxembourg government subsidizes a certain percentage of the investment amount in a new photovoltaic system, as each additional system is considered a contribution to a more sustainable energy production. The respective amount of the subsidy depends on whether you only want to feed the generated energy into the grid or if you want to consume it yourself.
For self-consumption, you can choose from the following alternatives:
Subsidy amount | Tariff | Duration
Option 1 | 20% on the investment costs | Guaranteed feed-in tariff | 15 years after initial operation |
Option 2 | 50% on the investment costs | Market price-linked remuneration | Variable contract term |
For full feed-in, you can choose from the following alternatives:
Subsidy amount | Tariff | Duration
Option 1 | 20% on the investment costs | Guaranteed feed-in tariff | 15 years after initial operation |
Option 2 | 20% on the investment costs | Market price-linked remuneration | Variable contract term |
